Travel to College

Discover how to get to EKC Broadstairs College and the support available to travel to College.

Our College is a 10 minute walk from the city centre and is well connected to surrounding towns and villages across East Kent. There are easily accessible cycling, bus and train routes.

Active Travel

Active travel means making journeys by walking or cycling.

You can plan your active travel routes across the county using the Kent Connected Website or App.

Walking

Walking to College is a good option for those living locally, and is a great way to keep active.

You can access the entrance on foot, located next to The Yarrow Hotel, at the top of Ramsgate Road.

Cycling

If you cycle to College, you can make use of the dedicated bike shed by the main entrance.

You can find your best route on most maps or use Kent Connected to plan your path.

Travelling by Bus?

Our campus is served by several bus lines, including:

  • 8A Breeze
  • 8X Breeze
  • 9X
  • 946
  • Loop

Bus services stop right outside the front College entrance, and the stop itself is called ‘East Kent College’.

Travelling by Train?

Our closest train station is Broadstairs, which is a 15 minute walk away.

Turn right as you leave the station and go straight up through the Cinder Footpath, which will lead you to Yarrow Close, opposite from the College.

Bus services connecting to the College are available at the train station.

Travelling by Car?

We are situated close to Broadstairs high street, being a five minute drive away.

Our front entrance is located on Ramsgate Road, where you can find our Welcome Building and our 4-star Hotel, The Yarrow.

Our back entrance is located on West Cliff Road and is where our main car park is located.

Paid parking is also available nearby via pay machine or the RingGo app.

Financial Support for Travel

Based on eligibility criteria, you may be able to get financial support to travel to College via Public Transport.

Please note: For travel funding, you must live further than two miles from the College.
